Fall in Love with Northern Michigan

Nothing says fall like Autumn in Northern Michigan- sweater weather, apple cider, donuts and amazing fall colors!

Here is a list of things to do this fall in Northern Michigan

Explore miles of trails for biking through Old Mission Point while stopping along the wineries for a glass of wine overlooking Grand Traverse Bay. Take a hike on the Empire Bluff Trail for breathtaking views of Sleeping Bear dunes and then take a scenic drive through M-22. Then stop through Glen arbor for some lunch and a little shopping.

Take a drive up 31 along Lake Michigan and make sure to stop by Friskes Orchard for some apple cider donuts or a little bit of Moomer's famous ice cream. Hungry try some of their homemade pizza it is out of this world. Come enjoy Charlevoix's Apple fest going on Oct.13-15 with more than 30 types of apples as well as other fall items such as pumpkins, jam, maple syrup, pies and cider. There will be arts and craft booths and plenty of kids activities for all to enjoy. Then don't forget to stop by Lake Charlevoix Brewing for some amazing craft beer and dinner at Drawbridge Bistro the Trout is amazing!

Want to be a little adventurous! Go zip lining at Wild Wood Rush in Boyne city for the ultimate zip lining adventure. Over 7,000 feet of zip lines, cross five suspended sky bridges, with amazing views of Lake Charlevoix from our six tree-top platforms while enjoying the fall foliage. After you are done head over to downtown Boyne City for a little shopping at Smitten Designs Studio we have Michigan inspired jewelry, apparel and cottage decor. Have lunch at one of the best outdoor patios over looking lake Charlevoix with a warm fire at Cafe Sante. Finish your day off with some Michigan craft beers from Stiggs brewery. Also join us for our annual Harvest Festival Saturday Sept 30th.

Going to Petoskey you say! Start your morning off at Chandlers for some bloody marys and the best corn beef stuffed hash and melt in your mouth french toast you will ever have. Then do a little shopping downtown and checkout one of my favorite shops Dunworkin and Grandpa Shorter's for some awesome gift ideas.

Last but not least head on over to Harbor Springs. Stop by Beards Brewing on your way and try some of their craft beer as you make your way towards Harbor Springs. Take a scenic chairlift ride at Boyne Highlands for breathtaking views of the brilliant fall colors over looking Harbor Springs! Then stop by Pond Hill Farm during their Fall Festival weekends going on October 15th for pig races, pumpkin bowling, cider and donuts and much more. Stop by the tasting room and sample their award winning beer, wine and cider and take a walk to the top of the vineyard for panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the countryside. Then take a scenic drive through the famous tunnel of trees on M-119 all the way to cross village where you will end up at the famous Leggs Inn for some authentic polish cuisine. Legs inn is built on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan with unique and distinct architecture and decor and a gorgeous garden with spectacular views of lake Michigan it is the perfect way to end your fall trip!
